
Sinclaire Marie
Sinclaire Marie is a functional potter, educator, and practicing artist whose work explores themes of identity, function, form, and atmospheric firing methods. A member of the Navajo Nation from Tucson, Arizona, she has relocated to Kentucky and is currently based in Cincinnati as the Atmospheric Artist-in-Residence at Queen City Clay. In this role, she focuses on atmospheric kiln firings, kiln building, clay research, portfolio development, and teaching.
She holds a BFA from Morehead State University with a focus on ceramic and charcoal mediums. Her work has been exhibited nationally and regionally across Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia at venues including Queen City Clay, Huntington Museum of Art, Appalachian Artisan Center, Lexington Art League, Rowan County Arts Center, and California.
Alongside her studio practice, Sinclaire has contributed to the arts as Director of Education & Lead Curator at the Gateway Regional Arts Center, where she led gallery programming and community development projects such as Art of Recovery at the Montgomery County Regional Jail and the Eastern KY Arts College & Career Fair. Her artistic development has been supported by the Great Meadows Foundation, a Penland Jane Peiser Scholarship, and the Color Network.
